People shared the impact Quids in! had on helping them feel more in control, less alone and better equipped to deal with money worries.
Looking back at 2025, the clearest picture of our impact comes from the people themselves. These quotes come straight from readers and service users, telling us what changed for them, what lifted the pressure and what helped them feel back in control. Here are some of the voices that shaped our year.
Feeling supported, heard and understood
Many people told us how much it mattered to have someone on their side. One reader said:
“Wouldn’t know where I would be without you. You have made everything much simpler and easier to deal with”.
Another told us they “felt like somebody” again after getting the support they needed.
Others described that moment of relief when someone finally listens. It would have been “much more difficult to deal with my situation without your support”, one person said. Another told us they came to us “in a dark place” and felt guided to the right help when they needed it most.
“You came like an angel when I was in a dark place. You channelled me to the right places, and gave me the relief and help I needed.”
A bit of understanding goes a long way.
Gaining confidence and taking control
Many told us they felt more capable and ready to take on challenges that had once felt overwhelming. As one person put it, “And now I feel back in control of my life thanks to my Quids in! Coach”.
Others talked about the boost they felt once they had someone backing them, saying they had been “brought on leaps and bounds” after finally getting the right support.
For some, the change was deeply personal. One reader told us:
“I really feel like somebody now and aim to conquer my debts. I will be back as your guidance has given me strength and I will one day be on the same path as everyone else.”
Real, practical changes that lift the pressure
For many, the biggest shifts were the practical ones. Someone cried with relief when a flooring grant came through, knowing it would make daily life easier. Another received a cooker and fridge freezer and was “so appreciative of the help”.
People also told us how important it was to get help with benefits they had struggled to claim alone. One couple said their Quids in! Coach worked tirelessly to help them apply for Pension Credit.
And sometimes the smallest wins carried the biggest weight. A warmer home. A gift card during a tough week. Or that reminder we all need now and then:
“It means a lot to know great people are still out there fighting the good fight for those who truly need it.”
The Readers Club
It was not only people using our one to one services who benefited this year. We are proud to reach over 33,000 readers who rely on the Readers Club for clear, trustworthy information that helps them stay on top of their money.
Among the readers we surveyed, 95 percent say the newsletter is useful and 37 percent say it helps them feel less alone with money worries.
Readers are also twice as confident their money will last, and one in five take action after reading, whether that means checking a benefit, switching a tariff or trying a new budgeting habit.
It shows something simple. When people have access to clear, practical information, they use it. And when they do, things start to shift.
Looking ahead to 2026
In the year ahead, we hope to reach even more people and learn even more from our community. We will be launching a Readers Club survey so you can help shape the newsletter and make it the best it can be.
