This no-fuss Chicken Tikka Masala from The Batch Lady is batch cooking at its simplest. Everything goes into one freezer bag, with no cooking or washing up on prep day. Feeds four for around £1.91 per serving, making it an easy, low-effort dinner for busy weeks.

What you’ll need (serves 4)

  • 8 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 cup frozen diced onion
  • 2 tsp frozen garlic
  • 2 tsp frozen ginger
  • 3 tbsp tikka curry paste
  • 500ml passata
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp mango chutney

To finish (not frozen):

  • 100ml double cream
  • Fresh coriander (optional)

How to prep it (this is the whole point)

  1. Open a large freezer bag.
  2. Tip everything except the cream and coriander straight in.
  3. Seal the bag and give it a quick squidge to mix.
  4. Label it and freeze it flat.

That’s it. No frying. No pans. No hovering.

How to cook it

  1. Defrost fully.
  2. Tip the contents into a slow cooker.
  3. Cook on:
    • Low for 6 hours, or
    • High for 3 hours
  4. Stir through the cream at the end.
  5. Add coriander if using.

Serve with rice or naan.
