Great for the colder, darker months of the year our triple chocolate brownies will give you a joyful energy boost to keep you going! This isn’t one of our cheapest recipes but it might just be the tastiest.
Ingredients
- 275g dark chocolate broken into chunks
- 170g combination of milk and white chocolate, broken into chunks
- 175g unsalted butter
- 175g plain flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 4 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 325g caster sugar
Method
Preheat the oven to 170c/325f/gas mark 3 and line a baking tray with lightly buttered greaseproof paper or foil.
- Put the plain chocolate and butter in a large bowl and melt together slowly over a pan of simmering water.
- Take the melted chocolate off the heat and stir in the sugar, then add the flour and baking powder.
- Lightly beat the eggs with the vanilla essence before folding into the sugar, flour and chocolate.
- Pour the mixture into the baking tin and bake for 20-25 minutes until the top looks firmish. Cool in the tin for at least 10 minutes before cutting.
