Triple Chocolate Brownies

Great for the colder, darker months of the year our triple chocolate brownies will give you a joyful energy boost to keep you going! This isn’t one of our cheapest recipes but it might just be the tastiest.

Ingredients

  • 275g dark chocolate broken into chunks
  • 170g combination of milk and white chocolate, broken into chunks
  • 175g unsalted butter
  • 175g plain flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 325g caster sugar

Method

Preheat the oven to 170c/325f/gas mark 3 and line a baking tray with lightly buttered greaseproof paper or foil.

  1. Put the plain chocolate and butter in a large bowl and melt together slowly over a pan of simmering water.
  2. Take the melted chocolate off the heat and stir in the sugar, then add the flour and baking powder.
  3. Lightly beat the eggs with the vanilla essence before folding into the sugar, flour and chocolate.
  4. Pour the mixture into the baking tin and bake for 20-25 minutes until the top looks firmish. Cool in the tin for at least 10 minutes before cutting.
