As well as the vouchers, Iceland will also take ten per cent off bills every Tuesday
Supermarket chain Iceland is giving away food vouchers worth £30 to pensioners.
The vouchers are for those of us who lively solely on the state pension and other benefits. We have until 16 September to apply.
To apply for the vouchers, we need to call 0800 098 7877.
As well as the vouchers, Iceland is also giving all shoppers aged over 60 a ten per cent discount off their shopping.
The discount will be available in every Iceland store one day a week.
With inflation climbing to more than nine per cent, many of us are feeling the squeeze on our bills – including at the check out after a food shop.
Food prices in general are ten per cent higher than they were in March last year, caused in large part by rising energy costs and the war in Ukraine.
How does the discount work?
There’s no minimum spend and the discount applies every Tuesday. It’s also available in The Food Warehouse.
All we need to do to claim is show proof of our age at the checkout. We can use a driving licence, passport or senior travel pass.
It comes as Asda rolls out a new range of no-frills budget items across its stores to help us cope with the cost-of-living crisis.
Meanwhile, author and super cook Lorna Cooper has shared plenty of her budget-friendly recipes with Quids in!
We recently gave away five copies of her latest book Feed Your Family: More From Less. The lucky winners were:
- Karen from Elland
- Emma from Hampshire
- Veronica from Lancashire
- Joanna from Leeds
- Louise from Norwich
